LOW-E Glass Also known as low-emissivity coated glass, it refers to a special type of glass with multiple layers of metal or other compound coatings on its surface, possessing extremely low surface emissivity. LOW-E glass is a green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly glass product. The surface emissivity of ordinary glass is around 0.84, while that of LOW-E glass is below 0.25. This low-emissivity film layer, less than one percent of the thickness of a human hair, has a high reflectivity for far-infrared thermal radiation, reflecting more than 80% of the far-infrared thermal radiation back. In contrast, the far-infrared reflectivity of ordinary transparent float glass and heat-absorbing glass is only around 12%, so LOW-E glass has a good effect in blocking the passage of thermal radiation. The visible light reflectivity of LOW-E glass is generally below 11%, similar to ordinary white glass and lower than that of ordinary solar control coated glass, avoiding reflective light pollution.
Product Characteristics
Insulated glass composed of LOW-E glass has excellent sun shading and heat insulation performance. The heat transfer coefficient K value is reduced from 2.9 W/m².K for traditional insulated glass to 1.8 W/m².K. When the outdoor temperature is very low, excellent energy-saving effects can be obtained because the heat loss from indoors to outdoors is reduced, making it easy to maintain the indoor temperature. This is equally applicable in hot regions, maintaining comfortable temperatures and saving air conditioning energy consumption.
